WHO WE ARE
American Gold Star Mothers of Southwest Florida, Inc., finds strength in the fellowship of other Gold Star Mothers who strive to keep the memory of our sons and daughters alive by working to help veterans, active duty service members, their families, families of the fallen, and our communities.
ACTIVITIES
Operation Very Merry 2023
This year marks our 6th year providing holiday gifts and family support to Veterans and their families across Southwest Florida. Because of amazing donors and volunteers, 2022 marked our largest Operation Very Merry so far. We were able to purchase gifts and supply gift cards for necessities to 3 Veteran families (Parents, children, and furry family members too!) We were also able to provide gifts, favorite treats, and a wonderful Christmas meal to 5 Veterans.
Operation Very Merry is one of our core projects each year and we look forward to a bigger and brighter 2023!
HOW WE SERVE
With our organization’s mission always in mind, we offer material and financial support to veterans, their families, and families of the fallen. We provide education regarding patriotism, community awareness and the price of freedom.
WHO IS A GOLD STAR MOTHER?
The term Gold Star Mother refers to any mother who has lost a child in the service of our country.
American Gold Star Mothers of Southwest Florida, Inc. is an organization of mothers whose sons and daughters served and died while on active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States of America, or died officially as a result of such service, or are missing in action.
WHERE WE SERVE
From Sarasota to Naples, but our primary service areas are Lee and Collier Counties. We also partner with other Veteran Service Organizations locally and across Florida.
